My daughter received a My First Story Reader for her birthday, and I was so glad to find 3 more books to fit it, since I was getting really really tired of the same three books! I sure hope they come out with more books after this…they only seem to come in sets WITH the story reader except for these, which is kind of silly.

My son is about 1 year old. He has had this since he was 7 months old. The last page has a song in each of the books. My son just loves the songs. He knows that it is only in the last page so he will come and try to turn the page himself. The moment the song starts he will start dancing to the tune.

But the durability of the story reader is questionable. It is not sturdy enough and the two parts broke. But it still works.

Secondly, the book does not seat very well in the story reader. So it was easy for my son to pull it out. And the moment the book pops out the story reader will stop.

The book is not very thick cardboard so I had to buy a new set of books. I bought the story reader in Target but my son tore the books after 2-3 months.

It is a power eater. The lady would just not shut up if the book is open to notify that the batteries are low and need to be replaced.

Its one of my son’s most favorite toys and it is truly his first story reader. He has never let me read any of the other pages since he just wants to jump in to the songs and dance to the tune. I would say he started the habit of dancing from this book. So I basically love it.

The child i bought this for is a big elmo fan. She loves how the story reader always plays a song on the last page, which ends up being the only page played at age 2. The cartridge fit perfectly into the Sesame Street My First Story Readerand recognized the new books immediately, however we quickly realized that with the cartridge in the story reader, it would not recognize the original baby einstein books.

The stories are cute, but I was expecting to hear the characters voices, instead of some woman. I think my daughter would have been more entertained if she heard Elmo’s voice, or any of the other characters.
