I’m thinking Berenstain Bears = FUN! But this book is just a dreary collection of cautionary tales. Too much TV, too many sweets, messy rooms, watch out for strangers, EVERY chapter is more alarming than the rest. I bought this book to read amusing little tales to my 4 year old, not to preach and scare the pants off of him. Truly, if they wanted to change the title to something like “The Berenstain Bears Tell You What’s Good For You” then that would be one thing…I could have avoided it. But “Big Book of Stories” just seems like it’s going to be a random collection. Buy the individual books, skip this. Or consider yourself warned.

Grab this book and get it for every child you know. This book goes into great detail on talking to strangers and why children should not do so. But, it does it in a way that children can remember and with the bears center stage. Also, it teaches kids on how to eat nutritious foods and goes into great detail on the different systems of the body and how they all work together. That one is very interesting to our little one! And, if you have someone in your house that watches too much television, this book has a story about that as well. This is a very nice storybook, very entertaining, and one that is read nightly in our house. Highly recommend!
